SEO migrations · Replatforming, redesigns, domain moves

Change platforms without losing the traffic you earned

A new platform, a redesign or a new domain is the fastest way to lose rankings you spent years building. I plan the move with you, map every URL, check the launch and watch the numbers after, so the new site starts where the old one left off.

Remote, on US business hours. I reply within 2 business days.

Sound familiar?

You probably need help with a migration if any of these are true.

What's included

Before, during and after launch. The timeline follows your development schedule.

URL inventory

Every URL that gets traffic, links or impressions, from crawls, Search Console and analytics.

Redirect map

One-to-one 301 redirects from every old URL to its best match, with no chains or loops.

Content and metadata parity

Titles, headings, copy and schema carried over, or improved on purpose.

Staging review

A crawl of the new site before launch: indexing rules, canonicals, internal links and templates.

Launch checks

Redirects, robots rules, sitemaps and tracking checked on launch day.

Post-launch monitoring

Search Console, crawl errors and rankings watched after launch, with fixes as issues show up.

Tracking continuity

GA4 and Google Tag Manager carried over so your numbers stay comparable.

Reporting

Before and after numbers, and a clear list of what was done.

SEO migration questions

Something else on your mind? Ask me on a call. (opens Google Calendar in a new tab)

When should I bring you in?
As early as possible, ideally before the new site's URLs and templates are final. Fixing a migration after launch is always harder.
Will I lose traffic during a migration?
Some movement while Google processes the change is normal. The goal of a good plan is to keep it small and short, and to catch problems early.
Do you build the new site?
No, your developers or agency build it. I make sure the SEO side is planned, checked and monitored, and I work with whoever is building it.
Which platforms have you migrated?
I work on Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce, Magento and custom or headless builds, so I know how each one handles URLs and redirects.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of the site and the kind of move, so I quote after the free strategy call.
